Tulips originated in Turkey and Persia, with people wearing the tulips in their turban. Tulip means turban in Persian. The general meaning of tulips is perfect love and the red tulip represents true love.
When I was a little girl, my first experience with flowers was the tulip, which grew next door. I picked some for my mother and she made me take it back, because it didn’t belong to us. I had to apologize for picking the neighbor’s flowers and learned a lesson in respecting other people’s property.
I never lost my attraction to these bright colored flowers. When I was old enough to grow my own, it was a delight to study them one day for a painting I wanted to do. This was a profound experience for me, mesmerized by the awesome design of God’s...
