16 x 20 acrylic painting on Eucaboard. This painting was done on April 9, 2012 to qualify for a special exhibit at the Toledo Museum of Art. I had to paint something that was influenced by the artist, Jules Olitski, for an exhibit with the Findlay Area Call to Artists for special exhibition honoring Olitski's Exhibition.
I just heard about the exhibition on Easter and waited till the next day before deciding to try to paint something. I got it painted, framed, and turned in the same day and was accepted into the Museum. I am also showing two other pieces, Wisdom and Evangel of Hope into the Exhibition.
Jules Olitsk was an artist who studied color and liked metalic paints. I also love brilliant colors and decided to paint my own impression of a redbud tree that had mesmerized me on Saturday, when I was at a park and saw a beautiful redbud tree. My art brings the mysteries of Heaven down to earth in a visual way to touch hearts and point people to our loving Heavenly Father and His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Watercolor, mixed media, acrylics, or colored pencils have been my weapons of choice with brilliant colors to brighten and delight the soul. Representational themes from nature inspire most of my art. I see God’s fingerprints on all creation. The more I get into art, the more spiritually aware I am and the closer to God I become. I want my art to touch people at the gut level, where no words...
