Description
This is a 300 hundred year old oak tree living near the country road that we drive past on the way to our son's house. This living tree seemed to call out to me, to tell it's story as I noticed it one day while driving to our son's home. I sensed that Native American Indians must have lived near this place. In fact, the Indians have a pow wow every year near this location. Since I am part Cherokee, this tree just seemed to be calling to me. I now call it my tree and look at it fondly every time we drive past it. I just had to paint it as a way of recording it's importance and history of all the things this tree must have seen in it's lifetime. It just seemed like such a wise old tree. It has experienced much and seen much. If trees could talk, I wonder what it would say.

Thank you Michaela for your kind comments. We drove by this tree recently and they cut down several of it's knarled branches. I am so sad. Fortunately I had just taken some more pictures of it before they cut the branches.
