Description
A few years ago, I was asked to play my harp at a small church in Michigan. I got a late start because my sister phoned me to warn me against going. She was watching the weather channel and said there was going to be a bad snow storm in the direction we had to drive. I could not get a hold of the people who had asked me to come, so this delayed the time of departure even more. They finally returned my call about an hour after the time I should have left, which really made me late. Tensions were high and I had an argument with my husband just as we were leaving. I was being pulled several directions at the same time, and everything seemed against me to make the long trip. Finally, we got on the road and I said a little prayer, asking for God's help. In my prayer, I mentioned that people were counting on me and needed a touch from God, but, I was not prepared. I felt totally useless and at my wits end. I knew that there was nothing in me that would be of good to anyone, so I knew that God would have to take over. I asked for His strength and anointing, because only God can change and touch people's lives from the inside out. I asked for God to use me as a vessel for His glory, in spite of the fact that I was not fit, and a broken vessel at that. As soon as I admitted I was a broken vessel, I saw a brown, plain pot full of holes and cracks. God's light was shining from within, so brightly, that I could barely see the pot anymore. Through our brokenness, our pain, our sufferings, ....when we finally let go, then God can be free to shine brightly through us. When I finally got to the church (and I was just a little ahead of time!) they had brought a bus load of people from a half way house, people who had just gotten out of prison. Many came for prayer and there was one report of someone being healed while listening to the harp.
Since I have shared this painting through email, several have bought prints and cards to share with others. This simple painting has touched the lives of many people with the message of the Gospel, which means, good news. When we let go and let God, He can take our brokenness and turn it into a thing of beauty and bring honor with His healing touch.

When we choose to receive JESUS CHRIST as our SAVIOR & LORD, we receive the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT and our physical body becomes the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT and we become filled with HIS LIGHT. If we were perfect (without flaws or cracks or blemishes) then that gift and what it represents would stay under cover. I am so happy HE uses cracked pots...aren't you!❤️🕊🔥🌹😇
